FreightTAS LLC, a leader in international freight forwarding and logistics recruiting, is looking for a dedicated Ocean Import Agent to join our team in Long Beach, CA, and Cranford, NJ. This full-time position offers a dynamic work environment where experienced professionals can manage and coordinate ocean import shipments efficiently. Key Responsibilities Manage the preparation and processing of ocean import shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Coordinate with carriers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and clients to facilitate smooth cargo movement. Prepare and review all necessary documentation including Bills of Lading, customs entries, and clearance paperwork. Ensure compliance with all U.S. Customs regulations and pertinent import laws and standards. Communicate effectively with clients regarding shipment status, delivery timelines, duties, taxes, and regulatory requirements such as FDA codes and HTS classifications. Maintain accurate records in CargoWise and other company systems. Assist in resolving issues related to shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, or customs complications. 3-7 years of experience in ocean import operations within freight forwarding or related logistics fields. Knowledge of ocean freight processes, customs clearance procedures, and regulatory compliance. Experience with CargoWise, a MUST Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
