Job Description Summary - To further develop the Ocean Team focus on Operations, Finance, People, Systems, Culture & Customer Service in adherence to the company’s policy and procedures. Tasks and Duties This section lists job-specific tasks and duties that are completed on a regular basis by the employee as noted in the Operational Performance Standards Create and maintain an effective department organization chart, which is designed for flexibility and growth. Monitor and improve key departmental productivity. Review and support with day-to-day quotations Support product with checking local charges and agreement quotes to ensure we minimize potential branch losses. Have thorough knowledge of the Ocean product. Plan and support with huddles and monthly meetings to discuss operations and delegate workloads within the team. Take an active role in the transition of new business/ updates to existing business. Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department. Be involved and suggest system/process improvements. Grow department Revenue in line with District budget target and management expectations. Supporting with BNP, AJAX, CLH, and internal financial reports to ensure that the department is showing clean financial accounting throughout all financial reports. Support all compliance efforts and trainings. Review and conduct staff appraisals and one on one meeting timely in line with the 3+1 Initiative Assist supervisor and key staff with goal setting and monitoring development. Qualifications University or equivalent business qualifications Minimum 7 years Expeditors’ or industry experience Minimum 3 years team management experience Proven problem solving, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills Good computer skills (e.g., MS Excel, MS Word) Fluent in English
