Job Description – Technical Writer (6–8 Years Experience) MCT4 - Offer Technical Publication Writer Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with 6–8 years of hands‑on experience in creating high‑quality technical documentation for engineering and technology products. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in industry‑standard authoring tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, Arbortext Editor, and illustration tools including PTC Creo Illustrate and Adobe Illustrator. This role requires excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with cross‑functional engineering, product, and quality teams. Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and maintain technical documentation such as user manuals, installation guides, service manuals, maintenance procedures, and product specifications. Create and edit technical illustrations, exploded views, line-art drawings, and diagrams using Creo Illustrate, Adobe Illustrator, or equivalent 3D/2D tools. Work within structured authoring environments using Adobe FrameMaker, Arbortext Editor, DITA/XML‑based systems, and content management platforms. Collaborate with engineering, R\&D, testing, and product management teams to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, BOM details, and test/qualification reports for documentation inputs. Ensure documentation complies with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and localization needs. Manage version control, documentation releases, and updates in alignment with product lifecycle milestones. Drive continuous improvement of documentation processes, templates, and workflows. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field. 6–8 years of experience in technical writing within manufacturing, engineering, electronics, or technology domains. Strong proficiency with: Authoring tools: Adobe FrameMaker, Arbortext Editor, DITA/XML Illustration tools: PTC Creo Illustrate, Adobe Illustrator, 3D/2D visualization tools Excellent written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical content. High level of attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications. Experience working in cross‑functional and fast‑paced environments. Familiarity with documentation standards and best practices (DITA, S1000D, ISO/IEC documentation guidelines). Preferred Skills Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as Windchill, Content Manager, or similar platforms. Understanding of UX writing principles for modern digital documentation. Knowledge of regulatory documentation practices, safety standards, and product compliance. Exposure to Agile development processes and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
