We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Office Accountant with prior accounting practice experience in the UK to manage our day-to-day financial operations and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years’ accounting practice experience in the UK (essential).
  • AAT qualified / part-qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and HMRC compliance.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules (preferred, but training can be provided).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily bookkeeping and financial records in compliance with UK accounting standards.
  • Prepare and process invoices, expenses, and payment runs.
  • Maintain accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
  • Reconcile bank statements and client accounts in line with SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support payroll processing and maintain accurate employee expense records.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts as required.
  • Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements (VAT returns, PAYE, Corporation Tax support).
  • Support management with budgeting and cost-control measures.
  • Provide financial data and insights to support business decisions.
