Description

Valley Transportation in Pemroke, ON is seeking a full-time Dispatcher/Office Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and professional team player with experience in an office environment and a strong background in customer service. The candidate must be available for shifts beginning as early as 6am.
Must be willing to attain a B-licence.
Qualified candidates will also be meticulously organized, have excellent time management and multitasking abilities, and have experience dealing with the public and diverse groups. Previous dispatch experience with knowledge on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) would be considered an asset.
Reporting to the Division Manager, the successful candidate will support our office team in the Pembroke Division, as well as other administrative tasks.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Charter quoting, booking and charter scheduling
  • Working with the customer and stakeholder to ensure above board customer service and conflict resolution in a timely and effective manner
  • Support route and spare drivers, providing accurate and up to date route information
  • Dispatching of information to drivers during route times including route assistance, providing guidance, or emergency support to drivers on the road
  • Management of ongoing incoming and outgoing communication with drivers, maintaining a clear, effective, and professional demeanor at all times
  • Support for the maintenance of accurate and complete personnel and contract compliance files
  • Reporting of bus delays and any incidents through proprietary software and providing supportive communication with various stakeholders
  • Reception and general administration duties
  • Other duties, as assigned: Route coverage support

Qualified individuals must have:

  • Post-Secondary Education is an asset
  • An Ontario G-class Driver’s Licence with the willingness to upgrade to a B Class Licence through Valley’s free training program
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience using MS Suite, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • An existing knowledge of the Ottawa Valley Region and surrounding areas
  • The ability to pass a Criminal Background Check and a Vulnerable Sector Screening
