We are Seeking: We are currently seeking an Office Administrator to join our Calgary Business Services Team.
About Us: Great Western Interiors is a 30-year Insulation and Drywall Contracting Company operating within the Calgary, Edmonton areas and has recently expanded into the Columbia Valley market. We are committed to providing our clients with quality workmanship while meeting expected timelines with an excellent service program. We are currently providing our services for New Residential Builds, Renovations and Multi-Family projects.

Location: This position is based in Calgary, Alberta. This is in an in-office position, with an opportunity for hybrid remote work (Fridays) upon successful completion of 90-day probation.
Hours: Full-Time Monday-Friday, 40-hours per week.

Position Overview: As the Office Administrator, you will play a valuable and crucial role in contributing to the financial and corporate function and well-being across all divisions of Great Western Interiors. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals looking to grow and utilize their experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support to the company’s Owner, President, Vice-President and Senior Accountant.
  • Entering Supplier material invoices and credits to balance for month end payments.
  • Maintain office organization including supplies, filing and general tidiness.
  • Assist with full cycle Accounts Receivable, including preparing and processing invoicing lists, invoices and submitting invoices (digital and hardcopy).
  • Assist with completing accounts payable. Including posting Purchase Orders, Bills, Credit Card transactions, Bill Payment stubs and EFT payments.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate digital and hardcopy financial records and filing.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements and month-end closing procedures.
  • Support in tech stack implementation plan including transitioning accounting platform and new resource planning software.
  • Support in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures for the Business Services Team.
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in office or construction administration bookkeeping, Accounts Payable/Receivable preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices. Familiarity with financial services and terminology.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software, experience with QuickBooks Online is considered an asset.
  • Tech Skills – General understanding of technology, Hardware and Software considered to be an asset.
  • Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work meticulously to achieve high-quality results.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to take direction and work effectively alongside a team.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
