Description
Whakauae Research Services is Aotearoa’s only iwi-owned Māori health research centre, grounded in the values and aspirations of Ngāti Hauiti and focused on improving hauora outcomes for Māori. They’re looking for an Office Administrator to be the steady hand behind the scenes, and the welcoming face at the front. This is a role for someone who takes ownership of the day-to-day. You’ll be the one making sure hui are organised properly, travel is booked without a hitch, visitors are welcomed well, and the office runs as it should. You’ll work across everything from events, systems & IT fixes, to health and safety and finance admin. You’ll pick things up as they come and get them sorted. You’ll be supporting a team of thoughtful, high-performing people doing important mahi in Māori health. You’ll be keeping things around them running smoothly, so they can stay focused on what they do best. More than anything, this role is about how you show up. You’re someone who is warm, steady and easy to deal with. You know what manaaki looks and feels like and can offer that to all our visitors. You look for ways to help without needing to be asked, and you follow things through. You’ve got good judgement, know how to hold your boundaries, and don’t get pulled into the noise. You’re organised, practical, and can think your way through issues as they come up. A genuine connection to kaupapa Māori matters here – whether that comes from lived experience, from demonstrable appreciation, or a place of respect, openness, and a willingness to learn. You’ll ideally come from an admin, community or kaupapa Māori environment where you’ve had to juggle priorities and keep things moving. This is a part-time role, working 32 hours a week between 8:00am – 4:30pm in the Whanganui office. Contact Genna on 021 537 875 or recruit@robynyoung.co.nz to learn more about the role.
