Syndicate Transport Ltd. is an asset based, full truck load carrier providing service throughout Western Canada. We are headquartered just outside of Calgary in Rocky View County. Operations including dispatch and customer service are maintained 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at both Calgary and Edmonton branches.

The position of the Office Administrator provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. Other responsibilities include answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, flow of correspondence, event planning, requisition of supplies as well as additional clerical duties as required.

Qualified candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong ability to multitask and a friendly demeanor. Other duties are as follows:

  • Perform general office duties such as answering phones, generating correspondence, providing clerical support, maintaining files and databases, making travel arrangements, preparing reports, assisting in the preparation of presentations, memorandums, proposals and correspondence, purchasing supplies, filing, using copier.
  • Greeting visitors, responding to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties.
  • Assist in enrollment in benefit plans and other required activities as needed.
  • Run local errands, monitor office supplies and place orders when necessary, maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Event planning and travel arrangements (flights, hotels, cars, restaurants).
  • Calendar management for owners and managers.
  • Assist with Board Meetings and meeting minutes.
  • Helping the Health and Safety Department.
  • Monitor office supplies and place orders when necessary. Arrange for pick-up of Kitchen & bathroom supplies.
  • Adding new drivers to Axon and assigning new ID’s.
  • Completing job letters and requesting insurance letters for drivers when requested.
  • Managing Indeed/Kijiji ads and responding to applicants.
  • Help set up for Orientation classes.
  • Maintain kitchen duties such as dishwashers/coffee machine etc.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in an office setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, friendly and outgoing demeanor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Able to complete complex administrative task with minimal supervision.
  • Familiar with Axon software would be considered as asset.
  • Must have own transportation as there is no transit to this location.
