Description The Office Administrator provides administrative support to both the Human Resources and Finance departments. This entry-level role is responsible for assisting with payroll processing, new employee onboarding and orientation, attendance tracking, benefits administration support, and general office administration. The position also supports Finance with various clerical and administrative duties. This role is designed as a developmental position, with the expectation that the individual will gradually transition into expanded HR support responsibilities. There are opportunities for advancement within the Human Resources department for candidates who demonstrate strong performance, initiative, and interest in pursuing an HR career. Requirements The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling payroll, employee records, and other confidential information. Candidates should possess basic administrative and data entry skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with HRIS, payroll, or time and attendance systems is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will be dependable, punctual, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A willingness to learn HR processes, policies, and compliance requirements is critical, as this role is designed to grow into expanded HR support responsibilities. Prior exposure to HR, payroll, benefits, or accounting functions is a plus, as is a demonstrated interest in building a career in Human Resources. Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and is able to work with unexpected delays or events Dependability – Consistently at work and on time, responds to management instructions, and solicits feedback to improve performance Safety and Security – Complies with all Corporate Safety and Security procedures Team Player – Ability to apply teamwork and positive leadership qualities to promote a collaborative work environment ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Human Resources Support · Assist with payroll preparation and processing, including time and attendance, as well as vacation and attendance tracking. · Support new employee onboarding and orientation · Assist with benefits administration tasks such as enrollment, employee questions, and documentation · Maintain employee personnel files (paper and electronic) · Provide administrative support to the HR Manager as needed. · Support recruitment activities as needed (posting jobs, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidates) · Gradually assume additional HR support duties as training and experience progress Finance Support · Provide administrative support for the daily operations of the Finance department · Assist with data entry, filing, invoice processing, expense reconciliation and document organization · Apply customer payments to accounts · Support basic accounting or clerical tasks as assigned General Administrative Duties · Maintain organized office filing systems · Distribute mail · Assist with scheduling travel and drivers · Assist employees with basic questions · Perform other administrative duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Associate degree or coursework in business, HR, accounting, or related field preferred 0–2 years of administrative or office experience (manufacturing or HR environment a plus) Skills & Competencies Strong organizational and time-management skills Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information Basic knowledge of payroll or HR processes preferred (training provided) Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, professional, and eager to learn
