Overview of the River Café
The River Café is an iconic Italian restaurant, based in Hammersmith, celebrating it’s 36th year. Owned and run by Ruth Rogers, there is a family feel among the team but also one of continuous learning and hard work. The restaurant is known for its use of the highest quality, seasonal produce to create simple but delicious food. It has a Michelin star and has many famous alumni such as Jamie Oliver.
What’s needed
A can-do attitude, buckets of common sense, natural organisation skills, along with good attention to detail. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - in particular Excel – is useful. This is a hands-on role that stands to develop over time and will expose someone to all the workings of the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Assisting with general admin tasks and organisation of the office
  • Ensuring the office is kept tidy and well stocked of necessary items
  • Stationary ordering
  • Booking of taxis and couriers
  • Administrative support to the Head Chefs; preparation of weekly rotas, ordering chef shoes
  • Health and Safety administration – working with HR and Facilities Manager to maintain log of all staff H&S training, and to organise training sessions as required cyclically for staff
  • Overseeing the monthly distribution of tips to staff
  • Support for Ruthie and her PA – reservations for Ruthie and her contacts, research tasks as required
  • Admin and logistical support on events
  • Cover for Ruthie’s PA in the event she is out of office; emails, reservations, answering phone
  • Researching and booking travel arrangements for staff trips
  • Supporting our Business Operations Director - assisting with general research tasks, preparing and presenting findings, and other tasks as required 2 Comms duties
  • Weekly newsletter creation – inputting text and imagery as directed, and sending using Klaviyo
  • Management of the images archive on G-drive; ensuring that new imagery is correctly uploaded and named, and being the ‘go to’ for locating of specific imagery Responding to press image requests
  • Creating charity and PR vouchers, and logging accordingly
  • Routine checking of the River Café Instagram inbox, ensuring that any messages are responded to in a timely and on-brand manner
  • Familiarity with the process of social media posting

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to £30,000.00 per year
