The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Performs a variety of personnel functions: administers health insurance program; provides benefit information to staff and prospective employees; tracks medical/Workers Comp. leaves, responsible for OSHA reporting, FMLA and medical note maintenance, retirement, reviews all personnel transactions, monitors appointments and separations, maintains tickler file for status monitoring; maintains,/runs/distributes/reconciles data from various reports; prepares a variety of reports; other duties as required.
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Must be permanent as an Office Assistant 3, be on the current list, or be in a permanent position eligible for transfer. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES: Experience in personnel/human resources. Proficient in NYSTEP and NYBEAS. 2 years’ experience in utilizing HRIS. Skilled in Microsoft Suite. Excellent interpersonal skills. 1 year experience in logging and tracking trends across OSHA reportable events. 6 months experience working with the New York State Retirement System and Health Benefit Administration.
