Hiring Unit:
Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
Graduate Student from the School of Information Studies (Approved for Work Study).

Main responsibilities:

  • Conduct internet searches and collect publicly available data on the career outcomes of McGill PhD alumni.
  • Maintain detailed and clear records of the results of internet searches using Microsoft Excel and OneDrive.
  • Categorize the search results according to the project taxonomy.
  • Participate in an introductory training session in early May 2025 to ensure consistency of internet searches, data collection, and categorization.
  • Participate in regular team meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with the project coordinator to ensure accuracy of records and ensure the timely completion of all tasks.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently to meet assigned goals.
  • Proven analytical skills and research experience.
  • Experience working with websites and databases.
  • An excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Effective communication skills with an ability to clearly transmit and receive information both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to conduct web searches on a private computer in a secure environment.
  • English, spoken and written.
  • A working knowledge of French and/or other languages is a strong asset.

Successful candidates must have a valid Work Study Confirmation letter from the McGill Work Study Program.
