Description

Norwood Foundry Limited, a leading provider of quality castings and waterworks solutions based in Nisku, AB (just south of Edmonton), is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Office Assistant with experience in Sage accounting software to join our dynamic team.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This role requires flexibility to handle a diverse range of office responsibilities, including reception, accounts payable/receivable, filing, and other tasks as assigned. Proficiency with Sage software is a significant asset, and a clean driver’s abstract is required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reception: Manage the company’s main phone line, assist customers, and direct calls to appropriate departments.
  • Accounting: Perform data entry in Sage 50, including vendor billing, purchase order matching, invoicing, sending statements, and providing customer quotes.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle filing, data entry, and document organization to ensure efficient office operations.
  • Correspondence: Manage emails, phone calls, and scheduling for pickups and deliveries.
  • Support: Assist with shipping and receiving tasks as needed.
  • Inventory: Conduct inventory counts to maintain accurate records.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support the team.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with Sage 50 (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable and payable processes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent multitasking skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.

Schedule

  • Hours: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Location: In-person at Nisku, AB (no remote work option)
  • Commute/Relocation: Ability to reliably commute or relocate to Nisku, AB, before starting work (required)
