Hale & Co. (Drybrook) Ltd is an independent, family-run Timber & Builders’ Merchants, established for many years with an excellent reputation.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Office Based Sales Person to join our Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, target driven individual to sell a wide range of building materials to Individuals, Building Contractors and other Trade Professionals in the Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and Herefordshire areas.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role is essential
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately at speed when processing Sales Quotations and Purchase Orders
  • Ability to multi task in a dynamic office environment servicing a fast paced operational business
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with a natural sales ability
  • Computer literate and experienced in the Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office environments
  • Experience of Border Merchant Systems ‘CounterAct’ or similar ERP system is preferable, but training will be given
    You can look forward to a competitive salary and a generous range of benefits including;
    22 days holiday a year plus bank holidays, with the exception of Good Friday (this is paid at double time, with a day in lieu given at Christmas).
    You would also have 22 paid Saturday Mornings off per year. In order to achieve the agreed Saturday Morning Working Pattern (26 on, 26 off) throughout the whole year, the remaining 4 Saturday Mornings are calculated as half days from your 22 days holiday allowance.
    The holiday year runs from 1st April to 31st March.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for serving both Trade and Retail Customers in branch, over the telephone and via email. You will expand and develop relationships with existing Customers and will identify and follow up on leads for new Customers and Business Opportunities.
Day to day, you will liaise with Customers and Suppliers in order to identify and recommend the very best materials to meet requirements. You will calculate material quantities, raise and convert quotations, and assist with any After Sales queries. In order to provide an efficient Customer experience, you will work closely with our Yard and Logistics team.
