JOB DESCRIPTION - OFFICE ENGINEER
Our Middletown, CT office is seeking an Office Engineer to join our growing and dynamic team.
AEI’s Construction Professionals take a true hands-on approach to all aspects of construction management. From pre-construction meetings through project closeout reports, our team collaborates closely with owners, designers, and Design-Build teams to ensure cost control and on-time project delivery. Our culture encourages our Construction Management teams to question what is possible to improve the quality of life for our clients by finding real-world solutions for our communities’ most important infrastructure needs. We are looking for diverse people who share in our entrepreneurial spirit to join our Construction Services Division to support many on-going projects.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8 years prior experience in construction inspection in civil, highway, vertical, or relevant engineering and survey fields
- Considerable knowledge of construction materials, methods, and procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field preferred
- Experience as an Office Engineer on mid-size to large projects preferred.
- Ability to work statewide at times

Responsibilities:
- Perform the duties of an Office Engineer on large or mid-size project with overall project record keeping.
- Set up and maintain computations and other records.
- Prepare and process change orders.
- Process Payment Estimates.
- Analyze submitted prices and estimate prices for new contract items.
- Assist the Resident Engineer/Chief Inspector in administrative functions.
- Maintain as-built drawings.
- Close-out projects.
- Maintain field records
