Description Position: Office Management - Staff Officer Location: Springfield, VA Clearance: Active TS/SCI Required Overview: To secure an award, we are recruiting a highly experienced Staff Officer with an active TS/SCI Clearance to provide mission, operational, and administrative support across National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) organizations. This role supports leadership by coordinating actions, managing information flow, and ensuring tasks are executed in alignment with organizational priorities. Depending on experience level, the Staff Officer may focus on task execution, cross-functional coordination, or serve as a senior advisor supporting leadership decision-making and mission execution. The significance of the work: This role is essential to ensuring the effective execution of NGA mission and organizational priorities. The Staff Officer enables leadership to operate efficiently by managing actions, coordinating stakeholders, and providing timely, accurate information that supports informed decision-making and mission success. The Work Location: DMV area What You’ll Do: Serve as a central entity for the administration and oversight of foreign language and associated testing activities by conducting and supervising the execution of testing procedures. Safeguard data integrity while supporting the accountability and upkeep of the NGA Language Lab and associated testing equipment. Maintain and update PeopleSoft records for individuals undertaking the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT), Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI), or other Department of Defense-approved foreign language assessments. Facilitate the administration of the DLPT for eligible participants, including federal civilian employees, military personnel, and contractors when appropriate. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Collaborate with the other members of HDN and coordinate and collaborate with NGA Directorates and Offices to ensure the NGA foreign language-testing program meets their requirements. Support HDN administration of processes for: Submission of PAR after receipt of test results, where applicable Updating PeopleSoft records Maintaining schedules to complete office suspense Documenting reasons for delay and updating schedules Marketing endeavors include regular updating training announcements to webpage, in-person attendance at NGA sponsored events (NST Conferences, New Employee Orientation, Deployer Conferences, and other briefings/office related meetings). Back-up for NGA West for course facilitation to include escorting instructors, receiving, and distributing materials. Responsible for regularly updating HDN’s website and correlative training links. Roundtable Culture and Language Exchange Program (RCLEP) to include maintaining the Wiki’s and blogs and developing collaborative site for each group. Serve as HDN’s point of contact for the NAVIGATE NGA New Employee Orientation will collaborate with NAVIGATE staff to ensure HDNP programs are presented to new employees. Responsible for maintaining HDNP’s English enhancement webpage Support HDN efforts concerning the NGA Human Geography efforts. Collaborate with members of NGA, DoD, and the IC on response to taskers, to include data calls metrics, corporate communications, business process improvement, strategic planning, and CONOPs Requirements Experience: Junior Level: 1-3 years of administrative or general office support experience. Mid-Level: 5-7 years of relevant staff officer or administrative management experience; demonstrated ability to manage office actions and coordinate projects. Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, management, or a related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree required for Mid-level consideration. Core Competencies: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ranging from routine correspondence to executive-level products. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a dynamic, short-suspense environment. Proven organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with increasing autonomy while collaborating effectively across teams. Technical Proficiency: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with experience interfacing with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders. High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint). Proficiency with government systems such as N-CERTS, Defense Travel System (DTS), Management Execution Tracker (MET), and PeopleSoft or similar systems. Specialized Experience (as applicable): Familiarity with or proficiency in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Formal training or authority to operate required government systems. Data Transfer Officer (DTO) certification or similar credentials (desired, not required). Security Clearance Requirements: This position requires you to have an active TS/SCI Clearance. A government background investigation will be conducted on selected applicants to determine whether they qualify for access to classified information.
