JOB OVERVIEW

Local transportation company seeking a detail-oriented and organized Office Manager and Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate would be a team leader, as well as responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and payroll and employee benefits. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in financial software. Good communication skills are a must, in addition to being able to prioritize well to meet weekly deadlines. This person will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organization.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Strong account reconciliation skills to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with various accounting software, particularly QuickBooks
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.
  • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy with the ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize financial software, including QuickBooks, for data entry and reporting.
  • Accounts Payable
  • Process daily invoices for reasonableness, accuracy, and proper approvals according to company guidelines
  • Pull invoices scheduled for payment in a timely manner
  • Processing weekly payments for hired carriers
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Reconcile vendor statements to internal accounting records.
  • Prepare and maintain various financial spreadsheets
  • Human Resources
  • Processing weekly payroll
  • Manage and implement employee benefits
  • Maintaining communication with all employees
  • Keep organized employee files with all required documentation
  • Prepare and file tax documents in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in technical accounting tasks as needed, providing support for audits and financial reviews.
  • Manage governmental accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as requested and filing as applicable.
