About Broadstone Legal:
At Broadstone Legal, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional legal services with a modern, client-focused approach. As a dynamic and growing firm, we are committed to building a strong operational backbone that will support our next stage of growth. We are now seeking a talented and driven Practice Manager to join us at an exciting time in our journey.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a broad, pivotal role at the heart of our operations. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm’s infrastructure, with particular emphasis on operations, risk and compliance, finance, and strategic project implementation.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially astute, and highly organised. As the firm evolves, so too will this role - offering significant opportunity for development and progression.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the daily administrative operations of Broadstone Legal, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to optimise workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate and manage office resources, including facilities, technology, and supplies.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory and legal standards to ensure all operations meet industry requirements.
  • Manage supplier and service provider relationships (IT, facilities, telecoms, etc.).

Risk & Compliance:

  • Maintain and develop risk management and compliance frameworks.
  • Ensure the firm meets all regulatory requirements with Director assistance.
  • Support with the preparation and submission of compliance reports and audits.

Finance:

  • Ensure accounts comply with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs) - this can be taught as part of the role if no prior knowledge. This includes ensuring that client money is handled in accordance with SRA guidelines, maintaining separate ledgers for client and office funds, prompt banking of client funds, regular reconciliations, and accurate record-keeping to prevent misuse or errors.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including supplier payments, billing processes, and cashflow monitoring.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting alongside external accountants where needed.
  • Ensure timely financial compliance and help monitor profitability metrics.

Strategic Support:

  • Work closely with the Directors to deliver key projects aimed at driving business growth and operational maturity.
  • Lead initiatives related to technology adoption, process re-engineering, and best practice frameworks.
  • Assist with HR administration, recruitment support, and staff onboarding processes.
