Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE IN THE MISSION:

Type One Energy is seeking an Office Manager for the company’s Knoxville Tennessee HQ, to provide general management and support of daily facilities operations. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with a proven track record of supporting office operations in similar start up environments.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as an Office Manager in a high-growth environment as well as experience managing office vendors and facility management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer, screen, and direct all incoming calls to the main corporate phone line.
  • Greet visitors, manage sign-in logs, issue visitor badges, and notify employees of arrivals.
  • Collect, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages; deliver office supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized office environment, including common and work areas.
  • Keep building management contact details and emergency protocols updated and accessible.
  • Coordinate weekly internal newsletter content and distribute to Knoxville office employees.
  • Schedule and support coordination of meetings and special events.
  • Manage the seating chart and workspace assignments; print and post cubicle name tags.
  • Monitor and replenish office and kitchen supplies; maintain inventory to avoid shortages or overordering.
  • Communicate building announcements and coordinate responses to notices from building management.
  • Serve as liaison between staff and external IT support vendor; assist with internal IT requests.
  • Support safety initiatives and compliance with corporate safety policies.
  • Organize fire drills in partnership with building management; manage evacuation volunteer teams.
  • Partner with HR to coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation sessions.
  • Prepare welcome kits and onboarding materials for new hires.
  • Coordinate with IT to ensure timely setup of equipment, software, and access for new employees.
  • Help integrate new hires into the workplace culture by providing logistical and social support.
