Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at keeping operations running smoothly? We are seeking an Office Specialist 2 to join our team and provide vital support to the Correctional Rehabilitation Manager and institution staff at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI) in Pendleton, Oregon.
About the Job – Your Role
In this role, you’ll perform a wide range of secretarial, technical, and administrative tasks that are essential to the success of our institution’s daily operations.
As part of your responsibilities, you will serve as a key point of contact—providing professional communication and support between the institution, the public, and visitors. This includes serving as a back-up Receptionist, where you will welcome and process visitors, support staff with outgoing communications, respond to first-line inquiries, and ensure smooth telephone and in-person interactions. You’ll also provide clerical assistance to staff across the institution and gain knowledge not only of general operations, but also of the specialized services within Correctional Rehabilitation.

Minimum Qualifications
You must meet one of the following:
Two (2) years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An associate degree in any field; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions
Operating computer equipment and being exposed to a video screen for extended periods of time. Sitting for extended periods of time is also required. Contact and supervision of the Adult in Custody (AIC) population is necessary on a daily basis. Required to work weekends and/or holidays as necessary.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
