Description Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for an Office Insurance Specialist in the Sleep Lab: Essential Job Responsibilities: · Able to work effectively with minimal supervision · Receiving and accepting sleep study orders · Finding information needed by insurance to get prior authorizations for sleep studies. · Obtain and track prior authorizations for sleep studies. · File all insurance paperwork and document necessary information · Address billing issues and authorization issues. · Assist with other office duties as needed. Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Experience: One or more years healthcare experience with emphasis on medical terminology and insurance processing. Performance Requirements: Knowledge: · Knowledge of Sleep Lab procedures and processes. · Knowledge electronic equipment and computer hardware and software. · Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. · Requires knowledge of medical equipment unique to sleep medicine as well as charts, files and reports. Skills: · Possess effective written and verbal communication skills. · Excellent keyboarding and computer skills. · Able to prioritize daily tasks and duties with minimal supervision Abilities: · Must be capable of handling multiple tasks effectively and able to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations. · Be respectful of Providers, other clinic employees, and supervisor. · Develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and Providers. · Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Work Environment: Working from home and in office with minimal supervision. Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
Responsibilities
The Office Insurance Specialist will be responsible for receiving sleep study orders, obtaining and tracking prior authorizations from insurance companies, and addressing any related billing or authorization issues. This role also involves filing insurance paperwork and assisting with general office duties as needed.
