Position Summary: The Office Supervisor is responsible for administrative, supervision, and managerial functions of the day-to-day operations of University Clinical Health’s Plastic Surgery practice. The Supervisor will focus on providing high-quality care to our patients and physicians through organization and leadership. A successful Office Supervisor will be someone whose administrative and clinical expertise contributes to the provision of excellent healthcare services. Key Results Areas (KRAs): Manage and coordinate activities of front desk and surgery scheduling employees in the Plastic Surgery department Engage in services related to patient care such as check-in and check-out, charge entry, registration, and payment transactions. Manage incoming referrals Ensure patients have appropriate prior authorization for upcoming surgery Manage and coordinate administrative services such as expense management, safety, payroll, office equipment needs, and purchasing Establish uniform procedures and practices to maintain efficiency in workflow Serve as the subject matter expert of insurance requirements for surgical practice Responsible for detailing the missing charge report, charge lag, POS collections, on-site IT initial support and decision-maker Core Competencies Strong problem-solving skills Committed to supporting UCH’s standard of medical excellence Knowledge of local insurance plans Knowledge of OSHA regulations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Flexibility and ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment Ability to multitask and prioritize based on business needs Understanding of health and safety standards in the medical industry Comfortable with discussing others’ concerns and resolving conflicts as they arise Requirements Education & Experience: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree Preferred 3 -5 years of experience in a Medical Practice environment Required 1 - 2 years of supervisory experience in a medical or ambulatory care setting Preferred Demonstrated experience in scheduling, authorization and referrals in a Medical practice Required Knowledge of Epic system Preferred
