Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for at least one (1) Permanent, Full-Time Office Technician (Typing) vacancy which exists in the Human Resources – Benefits Department. This position reports to the Human Resources Benefits Manager but may receive direction from the HR Director and/or Personnel Officer. A significant emphasis is on confidentiality, customer service, dependability, exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. This position is highly visible, fast-paced, and demanding which is critical to the administrative procedures and technical support within HR.
Duties assigned but not limited to: Reception coverage and answers multi-line phone system. This position requires maintaining confidential personnel, injury, and medical records, mail distribution, detailed record keeping systems of various workers compensation documents, and other highly confidential and sensitive data. Act as a back up to fingerprinting of employees, volunteers and contractors utilizing the Live Scan equipment and making of hospital badges using the hospital’s badging system as required. Composition of letters, memorandums, and reports is also required.
Desired Qualifications: Applicant should possess excellent computer skills, writing skills, and ability to learn and apply regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. This is a job requiring moderate activity, standing, walking, twisting, bending and stooping. The Office Technician must present a professional appearance and demeanor, be dependable and have a demonstrated excellent attendance record, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, able to multi-task, exercise tact and good judgment when interacting with the public and departmental employees, be highly organized, and maintain confidentiality of personnel related issues.
The individual must be willing to work overtime as required on demand with little or last-minute notice and may be required to travel. Excellent attendance and dependability are a must and critical for a position of this level of responsibility.

Working Conditions
Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
