The Australian poultry industries face increasing risks from emergency animal diseases and other biosecurity threats. To support industry preparedness and response capability, Australian Eggs is seeking a Biosecurity Project Officer to join its growing Risk Program team.

 

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager - EAD Preparedness, the Biosecurity Project Officer will support projects and extension to industry to strengthen biosecurity and emergency animal disease preparedness across the Australian egg industry.


Combining project management, stakeholder engagement and technical coordination, key responsibilities include:

  • Managing biosecurity and food safety projects within the Risk Program
  • Supporting RD&E activities focused on preparedness and resilience
  • Project management, coordinating timelines, reporting, deliverables and stakeholder communication
  • Preparing reports and presentations for industry, government and technical audiences
  • Collaborating with farmers, veterinarians, researchers, consultants and government agencies
  • Representing Australian Eggs in EAD preparedness and response activities

About You

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Strong project management across multiple priorities, stakeholders and deadlines
  • Experience in biosecurity, animal health, livestock, or a related field. Poultry will be a noted advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across industry and government
  • Experience supporting research, innovation or extension projects
  • Excellent written communication and reporting skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant related experience
