The Centre for Humanitarian Leadership (CHL) is an award-winning partnership between Deakin University and Save the Children Australia. Established in 2011 as an innovative combination of academic rigour and humanitarian practice, CHL has supported crisis and humanitarian leaders from more than 90 countries through its accredited and non-accredited academic courses in multiple languages. CHL champions humanitarian action that centres the agency of affected communities, respects diverse perspectives, elevates local actors, and furthers social justice. The Crisis Leadership Program (CLP) is a suite of non-accredited short courses designed to support crisis and humanitarian leaders working on the frontlines of the world’s most pressing challenges. The course, designed in 2022, has been translated into multiple languages (Ukrainian, Polish, French, and Arabic) and more than 1000 participants have completed it in less than three years. The Officer, Crisis Leadership Program (CLP) is instrumental in supporting the delivery of the CLP short course offered CHL. The Officer, CLP will support the CLP Coordinator and CHL team in the coordination and management of the administrative and operational functions of the CLP including support with communication, course applications, facilitator liaison, course logistics and travel. As an Officer, you will: * Support the CLP Coordinator on all aspects of CLP delivery, including course applications, participant recruitment and delivery schedule. * Support the recruitment of CLP short course applications with the CLP Coordinator and Communications and Marketing Team. * Support the CLP Selection Panel for the review of applications and administration of application outcomes. * Under the guidance of CLP Coordinator, lead on managing the delivery schedule and calendar invites for all CLP Masterclasses. * Assist CLP Coordinator and CHL Operations Coordinator in record management for various CLP documents, including application lists, participant tracker, attendance records, consent forms, post-completion surveys and certificates * Lead on responding to CLP student enquiries and inbox management To be successful, you’ll have: * A strong connection to CHL’s ambition to support frontline leaders in crisis-affected contexts * A sense of humour, adaptability, and creative approaches to problem solving, including a keenness to leverage AI-enabled tools to maximise innovative approaches to streamline processes * An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training * Proven ability to use Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and Zoom for day‑to‑day collaboration and information sharing, and Microsoft Excel to efficiently create and manage diverse data to support operational and reporting requirements * General digital literacy, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and follow organisational processes and guidelines. * Experience in administration and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies, and procedures. * Experience in operating in a high-pressure diverse environment, involving face to face, phone, and written communication The following additional criteria will be considered an asset: * Professional fluency in Arabic or French * Understanding and experience of humanitarian work and humanitarian environments and knowledge of associated educational and research funding environment. * Experience or knowledge of adult or vocational education, capacity building in an NGO setting, or higher education * Customer service experience providing timely, accurate, and respectful support to participants of a program/event Here's how to apply: Only people with the right to work in Australia may apply for this position.
