About the team: Market Operations sits within the Markets group and consists of Trading Operations, Clearing Operations, Market Announcement and Market Surveillance. Our team manages the ASX Trade and ASX 24 markets 24 hour team, ensuring we are meeting our licence obligations while providing support to market participants, regulators and internal stakeholders. Ensure the integrity, efficiency, and regulatory compliance with ASX's market licence obligations to operate Fair, Orderly and Transparent Markets through the operational support of the trading environments. What you will be doing: How we do things at ASX is just as important as what we do. Operate and monitor the markets on a 24 hour rotational shift structure, understanding the daily processes and key checkpoints throughout a trading day Provide a high level of customer service and escalate issues where necessary Complete daily checklist tasks with minimal supervision Understand the regulatory obligations for Trading Operations and determine when issues require escalation Working toward becoming a SME and looking for opportunities to upskill and improve knowledge of the workings of the ASX Trade and Trade24 markets Engage and service a diverse range of stakeholders inclusive of brokers, custodians, clearing participants, investment counterparties, system vendors, compliance officers and regulators Understand and ensure compliance with our license obligations and regulatory reporting requirements, including potential FOT issues Collaborate with internal teams to contribute to strategic initiatives that improve client service, optimize processes, and achieve operational efficiencies Maintain a high level of market awareness through media monitoring, analysing trends, and identifying potential risks Demonstrate the ASX Values: We put the market first; We stand up for what's right; We achieve more together; We drive positive change What you will bring: Must have Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders Gained an understanding of the Australian Equity or Derivatives market Attention to detail – understands the importance of getting things right Agile, Adaptable & Resilient – able to manage change and be positive Intellectually Curious – demonstrates a commitment to on-going learning Analytical Thinker – detail orientated, methodical and guided by structure and process; seeks to deliver efficiency Decisive Communicator – clearly articulates recommendations to management and keeps calm under pressure Team Player – actively builds and maintains relationships; respectful, considerate, ethical and behaves with integrity Work a 24hr rotating roster, covering the hours of the ASX Trade and Trade24 markets Nice to have: Knowledge of Participant systems, operations and connectivity models across Front, Middle or Back Office environments Previous exposure to listed products or ASX Operating Rules We make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how you’ll help us to live our values. Responsibilities
