The Goslar district is seeking

to fill a full-time (currently 39 or 40 hours per week) position as parental leave

cover for the deputy head of the Veterinary and Food Safety Department

, with the possibility of

continued part-time employment, starting as soon

as possible and limited until

August 14, 2027.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Enforcement and monitoring of European and national food and meat hygiene law,
  • Enforcement of veterinary medicinal product regulations and monitoring in the area of ​​“animal by-products”,
  • Support in the enforcement of legal regulations relevant to animal welfare and the control of animal diseases.

Requirements profile

  • Successfully completed university studies in veterinary medicine,
  • Veterinary license,
  • For employment in the civil service, the career qualification for career group 2, second entry-level position, in the field of "health and social services", is required.
  • Possession of a valid Class B driving licence,
  • Proficient use of MS Office programs Word, Excel, and Outlook is expected, as well as a willingness to use relevant specialized software/applications (Balvi, HIT, FIS-VL, TSN/TSBH, etc.) after training.
  • Furthermore, the willingness to perform duties outside of normal working hours is expected.
  • A completed veterinary traineeship, experience in public veterinary medicine and knowledge in the administrative field are advantageous, but not mandatory.
