Offsites Technician – Minimum 4th Class
Reporting to the Shift Team Lead
As part of the Operations department at Braya Renewable Fuels, the Offsites Technician is to contribute to a positive working environment with a continued commitment to safety. The goal of an Offsites Technician is to monitor equipment and improve the quality, efficiency, and safety of the production plant

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience
  • Petroleum Engineering Technology Diploma, considered an asset
  • Understanding of advanced control systems
  • Ability to use reason and logic to solve mechanical and chemical problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees
  • Detail-oriented with proficiency for accuracy
  • Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude
  • Exemplary record in Health, Safety, and Environment is essential
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving capabilities and ability to meet deadlines
  • Computer literacy (an asset), i.e., Microsoft Office and (Computerized Maintenance Management System) such as Maximo or SAP
  • Comprehensive knowledge of refinery operations or Industrial background
  • Ability to use reason and logic to solve mechanical and process problems
  • Dependable and persistent, and work well as part of a team
Responsibilities
  • Work with staff members and coordinate maintenance efforts to ensure equipment and machinery are working properly
  • Monitoring and operation of equipment in assigned units
  • Operate pumps and compressors and perform oil sampling
  • Opening and closing valves as needs arise
  • Gauging and sampling of feedstock and product tanks as required
  • Assist with line handling for vessel’s mooring and unmooring at the jetty
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and reporting problems with offsites processes or equipment to shift managers and maintenance engineers
  • Inspections of all key process points in the facility, to identify anything abnormal. If an issue is identified, make necessary machinery and equipment adjustments and implement the proper response, including notifying supervisors
  • Perform other administrative tasks such as recording test results, shift log and other data about the plant’s operation
  • Participate in health and safety programs
  • Collaborate with supervisors and peers to identify and correct potential health and safety/environmental hazards
  • Follow safe work practices through safety/environment and housekeeping practices
  • Participate in maintenance activities as required
  • Participate in all training programs as assigned
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
