An opportunity for childminder is available at Tiny Wilds, a beautiful outdoor based childcare setting located in a wild garden on an organic smallholding on the edge of Dartmoor. We are looking for someone who can join our small team (two other childminders (both primary school teachers) and three assistants) as a childminder to help run our 2 year old cabin along with another experienced childminder.
Tiny Wilds is a childcare setting, led by two primary school teachers and assistants, that focuses on creative, active and nature-based learning for children aged 2-8.
We are looking for an Ofsted registered childminder to support the Lead teacher in the day to day running of Teeny Tiny Wilds. They will support the youngest children in their learning, following our daily rhythm and allowing the children to lead their play.
Tiny Wilds operates from a wild and rugged garden on an organic farm and wildlife project during term times. We are located in a river valley on the edge of Dartmoor, 4 miles from Tavistock. The Teeny Tiny Wilds cabin is a light and cosy cabin, with lovely big windows and glass doors that open up onto a small and safe outside area that enables the tiny ones to have a free flow in and out of their cabin. This garden opens on to the larger nature garden shared by all of the children. Tiny Wilds (3-4) is set in a beautiful, windowed yurt, both set in a half acre natural garden, which provides the freedom and exhilaration of outside, free-flow play. The farm is also home to a home ed group called Mighty Wilds (5-8), which is run from the house. The extraordinary nature accessible to Tiny Wilds is hard to find anywhere in the UK and our children have access to the ancient forests, SSSI land, boulder-strewn river and bluebell meadows that belong to the founders, as well as open moorland and organically farmed animals. On the farm we keep goats, chickens, geese, pigs, ducks, ponies and cows and have a lovely big gentle dog, 2 miniature dachsunds and a friendly fluffy cat. The children also have their own vegetable garden and green house.
