Department Overview The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health (SPH) is aligned with the American Public Health Association in declaring racism a public health crisis, and our School is committed to becoming an antiracist SPH. We are working to center social justice in our internal and external work as a school and are committed to addressing structural and institutional racism, and to holding ourselves accountable to this work. Function/Duties of Position This position supports a collaborative research initiative examining the role of private equity investment and corporate ownership structures in assisted living communities, with a focus on implications for regulation, quality, and resident outcomes. The position supports this work by supporting the preparation of methods-focused manuscripts, including drafting sections of papers, documenting analytic decisions, and preparing tables, figures, and appendices. Primary responsibilities include task tracking across multiple manuscripts, coordinating timelines for internal review and journal submission, and managing citations and reference libraries. Additional duties may include summarizing relevant literature, supporting revisions in response to peer review, and assisting with documentation needed for reproducibility and transparency. Required Qualifications Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in a Graduate Program (minimum 4.5 credit hours) Experience using a computer to accomplish work-based goals Experience working effectively with a team Experience working independently on assigned tasks - Ability to communicate professionally in writing and verbally Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to apply analytic reasoning to text Intermediate Microsoft Word skills Basic Microsoft Excel skills Adherence to code of conduct Respect in the workplace Applicable policies, procedures and agreements related to position, department or OHSU as a whole Preferred Qualifications Coursework completed in health systems and policy Coursework completed or underway in research methods and design Current MPH or PhD student in Health Systems Management and Policy Experience working in a research setting Experience using Shared Drives Project management or task tracking Experience using Zotero Experience contributing to academic publications Knowledge of long-term care settings or healthcare topics relevant to the provision of care to people living with dementia in assisted living Knowledge of healthcare financing Basic R Statistical Environment Completed CITI training(s) in responsible conduct of research Additional Details Flexible schedule outside of meetings 1-3 times per week.
