Role description: Arcadis is seeking an Asset Retirement Specialist in the Houston area with demonstrated relationships with large oil and gas companies including, but not limited to, Chevron, ExxonMobil, and BP. This role will focus on strategic advisory, growth, and project execution. The ideal candidate will have a working relationship with oil and gas companies in one or more of these key areas and will be able to immediately support and manage new growth opportunities in both onshore and offshore settings. With a proven reputation for excellence in client management and business development, the candidate will help shape Arcadis' growing impact across various regions by leveraging their knowledge of the oil and gas sector with respect to facility decommissioning, remediation, and restoration of various asset classes. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep industry connections, asset knowledge, strong business acumen, and the ability to work within cross-functional teams. Role accountabilities: Act as a trusted advisor to internal client teams and external clients by crafting and delivering tailored, yet standardized, solutions to meet asset retirement obligations (with and without residual environmental impacts), leading teams in preparing winning proposals, delivering successful presentations, negotiating critical issues with clients, and identifying potential teaming partners and subconsultants. Oversee all phases of project delivery—including planning, design, execution, and contract administration—ensuring quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, timely completion, and high client satisfaction. Serve as an Arcadis Asset Retirement specialist to further expand our relationship with our key oil and gas clients with a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience while diversifying Arcadis' service offerings across Decommissioning, Site Assessment and Remediation/Restoration, and Permitting and Planning opportunities. The ideal candidate will continue to build their understanding of Arcadis' capabilities beyond asset retirement and expand Arcadis' position as a trusted partner. Collaborate with Arcadis teams and account leaders to develop and implement differentiated asset retirement services, identify new business opportunities, and create targeted pursuit strategies that address client needs and market trends. Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to inform business development and service differentiation. Represent Arcadis at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events. Support contract administration and ensure Arcadis' internal processes and reporting requirements are met for successful project delivery. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline A minimum years of relevant experience in asset retirement, decommissioning, and/or site restoration within the oil and gas industry; global experience preferred. Demonstrated success in business development and client management for oil and gas sector projects. Strong industry connections that can be leveraged to expand Arcadis' service offerings.
