QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in commodities risk management, preferably in oil & gas.
  • Deep understanding of oil markets, derivatives instruments, and risk analytics.
  • Proficiency in trading platforms (e.g., ICE, CME), Excel, and risk management software.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR).
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Oil Risk Analyst / Hedger & Derivatives Trader to join our dynamic trading and risk management team. This role will focus on managing price risk exposure in crude oil and refined products markets through effective hedging strategies and derivatives trading.
You’ll be responsible for optimising trading positions, conducting paper trading, and contributing to revenue generation—while ensuring full compliance with internal risk policies and external regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute strategic hedging programs for crude oil and refined products.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, supply-demand fundamentals, and geopolitical risks.
  • Conduct derivatives trading (futures, options, swaps) on exchanges and OTC markets.
  • Perform daily risk exposure analysis and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, trading limits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with commercial, finance, and operations teams to align trading and hedging objectives.
  • Track performance and report P&L from hedging activities and speculative paper trading.
