Oilfield Lab Technician – 1099 Contractor Opportunity Company: Locus Bio-Energy Status: Non-Exempt  Reports To: Technology Lab Manager Job Description: Position is responsible for general oilfield chemicals laboratory testing, analyzing data and generating reports. Key responsibilities are as follows: · Conduct analyses of raw material and finished product samples using tensiometers, densitometers, pH meters and viscometers. · Perform standard oilfield chemicals laboratory performance testing. · Adapt ASTM test methodologies for new product line development. · Communicate results directly with the team and Technology Lab Manager. · Maintain accurate laboratory records and other documentation as required. · Maintain a clean and safe laboratory working environment including organization of materials. · Utilize good laboratory practices and perform lab procedures in accordance with the SOPs. · Wear required PPE while carrying out position responsibilities. · Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements: · Undergraduate or graduate degree program in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related discipline. · Minimum of 1 years’ experience in industry or academic laboratory setting. · Familiarity with instrumental and wet chemical techniques preferred. · Position is in person located in The Woodlands, TX. Relocation is not offered. General Skills · Strong communication skills; both verbal and written. · Ability to identify problems and execute standard procedures. · Acute attention to detail. · Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook efficiently.
