POSITION DESCRIPTION The Farm Crew Supervisor oversees the daily harvest and distribution schedule and leads the farm crew of full- and part-time employees in the production of high-quality vegetables for Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs. This role is responsible for coordinating daily farm operations, supervising crew work, and ensuring efficient harvest, post-harvest handling, and field production. The Farm Crew Supervisor works closely with the Farm Manager to support smooth daily operations, maintain high standards of quality, and foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful work environment. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills, as well as the ability to lead by example through hands-on participation in all areas of farm work. This position is primarily performed outdoors on a working farm and includes physically demanding labor, exposure to varying weather conditions, and leadership responsibilities in a dynamic agricultural setting. Safety protocols and training are provided and must be always followed. This is a seasonal, full time position March – October, with some weekend hours on a rotating basis. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead daily harvest operations and oversee washing, packing, and preparation of produce for restaurants and on-site distribution Meet regularly with the Farm Manager to review priorities, set goals, and plan daily and weekly work schedules Supervise, direct, and work alongside the farm crew in all areas of production, including seeding, transplanting, weeding, irrigation, crop maintenance, and harvest Maintain efficient workflow and pacing while ensuring quality standards, proper techniques, and safety protocols are followed Contribute to record keeping related to harvest yields, crop availability, and production planning Monitor and assist with irrigation setup and use in fields and greenhouses Support on-site produce sales and distribution, including staff vegetable boxes, gift shop sales, and potential farm stand operations Maintain clean, organized workspaces and ensure proper care of tools, equipment, and facilities Identify operational challenges and work with the Farm Manager to improve systems and workflows Provide coverage for crew absences as needed Perform other related duties as assigned to support farm operations This job summary is not intended to be all-inclusive. Qualifications Required Minimum of two years of vegetable farm experience at a production scale, including planting, weeding, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling Demonstrated leadership ability and experience supervising or guiding others in a work setting Strong work ethic, reliability, and emotional maturity Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Willingness to learn and work within established farm systems In-person interview and farm visit required Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs. repeatedly Comfort working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday Preferred Experience managing teams in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Interest in sustainable agriculture, food systems, or land stewardship Experience working collaboratively with diverse individuals and communities Due to the natural environment at Ojo Spa Resorts, all staff must be comfortable outdoors performing physical activities, and be able to navigate uneven ground, diverse terrain, multiple stairs, and be prepared to work in unpredictable weather conditions.
