Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Oligonucleotide Chemist to join our innovative research team in Lystrup, Denmark. In this role, you will be responsible for the synthesis, modification, and analysis of oligonucleotides for various applications in therapeutics and diagnostics.

  • Design and synthesise custom oligonucleotides using automated synthesisers and manual techniques
  • Develop and optimise methods for oligonucleotide modification and conjugation
  • Develop and optimise purification methods for various modified oligonucleotides and conjugates.
  • Perform analytical characterisation of oligonucleotides using HPLC, mass spectrometry, and other relevant techniques
  • Troubleshoot synthesis and purification processes to improve yield and quality
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support research and development projects
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments and results in accordance with laboratory protocols
  • Contribute to the development of new oligonucleotide-based technologies and applications
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control standards
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal and external stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in chemistry or a relevant field plus industrial experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of nucleic acid chemistry and oligonucleotide synthesis techniques
  • Proven expertise in using automated synthesisers and manual synthesis methods
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques, particularly HPLC and mass spectrometry
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimise complex chemical processes
  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation abilities
  • Experience with quality control procedures and GMP regulations
  • Understanding of nucleic acid therapeutics and diagnostics applications
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
