BACKGROUND TO THE POST

Our café in OliOli® Dubai is a dedicated eatery for our guests which offers nutritious snacks and treats for any time of the day. Our vision for our café was something that was not merely a cafe, but a habitat of comfort, love and joy. It’s the perfect spot for parents to grab a delicious cup of coffee, for kids to grab a snack to fuel the fun, or for families and friends to have a wholesome post-play meal. As such, the space and the team working in it must reflect The OliOli® distinctive character and values by offering a welcoming and efficient service, and an environment that appeals to the young and young-at-heart.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic Café Server to join us on our voyage. This is a full-time role and working on weekends is a must.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Café Server role in OliOli® will be to work alongside the other members of the staff to successfully run the Café and ensure customers’ expectations of food, beverages and customer service are met. This may include the aspects of café operation including equipment, facilities, health and safety, customer-care, and administration. The role will involve working with the management team to achieve the best possible quality of food and beverage provision.

QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS

Essential
· Previous experience as a supervisor within a customer focused environment
· Pleasant and confident customer service and communication skills.
· A willingness to learn new systems.
· High energy levels with cheerful disposition
· Must be punctual with a professional outlook, able to work under own initiative without supervision
· Willingness to understand and engage the public about the range of activities at OliOli®
· Ability to stay calm during busy periods
· Ability to be calm and positive when dealing with complaints or difficult situations.
· An interest in working in a child-friendly environment.
· Willingness to undertake appropriate training such as first aid or food hygiene.
Desirable
· Experience of using a till
· Previous catering experience
· An interest/enthusiasm for food
· Knowledge of food hygiene
· Availability to work during school holidays and occasional evenings.
6 working days a week including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

Cafe Management and Coordination
· To set maintain, highest standards of customer service in café
· To provide cover with the other staffs as required on a daily basis
· To take responsibility for the presentation of food and beverages offered for sale and completion of admin duties
· To be responsible for the monitoring and control of stocks and wastage, undertaking stock take at regular intervals with the assistance of management team
· To work with the management team, on other projects as required
· To ensure good timekeeping and performance by staff, and to comply at all times with security procedures
· To assist the management team, to maintain the standards of hygiene and health and safety at all times and throughout all the catering options
Financial Management
· To operate the till and take receipt of payments
· Ensure all cash and credit card transactions are completed according to company directives
Health & Safety
· To comply with all Health and Safety policy, measures and legislation
· Follow all Health and Safety policy, measures and legislation
· Ensure the safe operation of the café and use equipment in a safe manner
· Maintain the security of café and equipment
· Assist with Risk Assessments and Method Statements where required
· Report all safety matters to the Manager
Customer Service
· To assist with customer enquiries and orders
· To welcome customers and ensure their orders are processed efficiently
· To work within reason to minimize customer complaints and maximize customer satisfaction
