We require an experienced Oliver McGowan Tier 2 Facilitating Trainer to deliver sessions to our NHS partners in the Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes area.
The candidate should already be an Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Facilitating Trainer and are willing to travel to deliver face-to-face training sessions.
Our fully trained team provide excellent support to Facilitating Trainers and Experts with Lived Experience and have been delivering Oliver McGowan Mandatory training for over two years.
You will deliver training at client sites, there will be travel involved, so own transport is essential.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Deliver learning disability and autism training to people who work in health and social care. This training is called The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of learning disability and autism and are likely to have training experience.
  • Lead and support experts with lived experience co-trainers who will be autistic people and people with a learning disability.
  • Promote social inclusion and reduce inequalities in health opportunities through training and education.

CORE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Co-deliver a minimum of two Tier 2 sessions each week. The sessions will utilise a range of methods, including traditional training delivery, group discussions, and film.
  • Help to ensure the effective organisation of training activity which may include confirming co-trainers attendance and supporting them with planning travel.
  • Actively take part in weekly team meetings, appraisal and supervision.
  • Be able to travel anywhere within the BLMK area
  • Remain focused during long spells when delivering presentations.
  • Role model exemplary behaviour in terms of conduct, attitude and performance, when delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively support experts with lived experience co-trainers, ensuring they are fully included and supported in the delivery of the sessions, helping them to develop skills and confidence.
  • Employ learning interventions that are learner centred.
  • Appropriately challenge poor practice.
  • Work collaboratively with NHS organisations, both nationally and across BLMK and with a wide range of external agencies and organisations.
  • Support people to ‘speak up’ so that their thoughts, ideas and concerns are heard.
  • Act in ways that support equality and value diversity, treating everyone with dignity and respect and recognising and reporting behaviour that undermines equality and diversity.

GENERIC RESPONSIBILITIES
