On Air Announcer / Sales – Fort Nelson, BC
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile On-Air Announcer & Sales Account Executive to join our team in Fort Nelson, BC. This unique role combines your passion for broadcasting with a keen ability to build relationships and generate revenue. The ideal candidate will be community focused, engaging on-air, have excellent sales skills, and be able to promote our station and its advertisers in a creative, compelling, and effective way.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience as an on-air announcer or radio host, with a strong, clear, and engaging voice.
• Proven sales experience, preferably in radio or media sales, with a strong understanding of advertising and marketing.
• Excellent communication skills, both on-air and with clients.
• Comfortable with live broadcasts, working under pressure, and adjusting to changing circumstances quickly.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for radio and sales.
• Experience with radio production software (e.g., ENCO, Nexgen).
• Basic knowledge of audio editing and production techniques.
• A network of local business contacts or experience in local market sales.
• Must be comfortable working independently and managing all responsibilities in a single-person role.

On Air Announcer (Mornings)

• Host live radio broadcasts, ensuring high-energy, engaging, and informative content.
• Be a part of the community, live, work, and play here.
• Plan, prepare, and present shows that entertain and inform listeners.
• Engage with listeners via phone, social media, and other interactive platforms.
• Read scripts, commercials, and public service announcements, maintaining clear and articulate communication.
• Conduct interviews, play music, provide weather, traffic, and news updates, and run station promotions.
• Ensure seamless transitions between programming elements and respond to unforeseen technical issues during the broadcast.

Account Executive

• Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and advertisers to drive advertising revenue.
• Develop and present customized sales proposals, including on-air commercials, digital, sponsored content, and promotions.
• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, generating leads and building a strong client base.
• Collaborate with Vista Sales team and management to meet revenue goals and station objectives.
• Work closely with clients to ensure their satisfaction with campaigns, offering creative solutions to maximize their exposure.
• Attend client meetings, participate in promotional events, and assist with station marketing efforts.
