The University Club of Washington, DC is looking to enhance its team with an enthusiastic and motivated experienced on -call Banquet Server for the upcoming Fall and Winter Season.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

· High school degree or equivalent preferred.
· Physically able to carry 50 pounds; able to stand, bend, and move throughout shift.
· Must possess honesty and integrity.
· Must always be courteous and tactful.
· Must treat others with kindness and respect.
· Ability to appear for work on time.
· Ability to understand and follow posted rules and procedures.
· Ability to follow directions from a supervisor.
· Minimal understanding and usage of English language.
· Flexible schedule with full availability at nights and weekends.
· Working knowledge of food and beverage laws and regulations.
· Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
· Works well and efficiently under pressure
· Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of staff and management
· Multi-tasking abilities.
· Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

SERVER JOB DUTIES

· Greeting members/guests as they enter the banquet space and help them to find their seats.
· Seeing to the comfort of members/guests through answering questions, taking orders, conveying special instructions to the kitchen and bar, and serving food and beverages.
· Circulating the room with trays of appetizers and beverages.
· Directing members/guests to necessary services and features of the event.
· Assisting with event preparation, set up, and closing, including setting up and packing away tables, tablecloths and place settings, and buffets.
· Supporting other staff to ensure member/guest satisfaction.
· Adhering to safety and quality regulations.
· Running food from the kitchen to the banquet hall on demand.
· Assist with food and table prep before the event begins.
· Set up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling performance.
· Serve plated dinners for members/guests and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers and other needs.
· Communicate with banquet supervisors as well as other servers and event organizers.
· Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
· Open wine and take drink orders.
· Clean up the event space after the event ends and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks.
· All other duties as assigned by club management.

BARTENDER JOB DUTIES:

· Ability to set-up Banquet Function Bar set-ups.
· Collect all necessary equipment, beverages, etc. to set up the designated area.
· Polish all glassware and prepare needed bar fruit.
· Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
· Provide beverage service to guests in a professional and courteous manner consistent with established standards and levels of excellence.

· All other duties as assigned by club management.

  • At least aged 18, over 21 preferred.

SET-UP JOB DUTIES:

· Set up of the banquet room(s) per the specification of the Banquet Events Order (BEO).

  • Reporting maintenance issues to management.
  • Audio/Visual set up may be required.
  • Assembly of dance floors, stages, podiums may be required.
  • Performing event breakdown duties to include breaking down, loading, accounting for, returning and storing equipment and rented equipment appropriately.

· All other duties as assigned by club management.
