OVERVIEW

We are seeking experienced and reliable On-Call Baristas to join our team. This flexible position is perfect for skilled coffee professionals who want to maintain their expertise while having scheduling flexibility. As an on-call team member, you’ll step in during busy periods, cover shifts when needed, and help maintain our high standards of coffee service and customer experience during peak times or staff absences.

What You’ll Be DoingCoffee & Beverage Service

• Craft exceptional espresso-based beverages, drip coffee, tea, and specialty drinks following our established recipes and quality standards
• Operate and maintain commercial espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment
• Provide friendly customer service, take orders, and make personalized drink recommendations
• Handle cash transactions and point-of-sale operations accurately

Support Operations

• Assist with food assembly and serving when needed
• Serve ice cream, smoothies and juice production
• Maintain clean and organized workspace during shifts
• Support display case presentation and product merchandising
• Help with opening and closing procedures as scheduled
• Assist with patio service when called upon

Team Integration

• Seamlessly integrate with existing team members during shifts
• Maintain our café’s welcoming atmosphere and community focus
• Adapt quickly to daily operations and any special requirements
• Support busy periods and maintain service quality during high-volume times

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 years of barista or coffee service experience required
• Strong espresso machine operation and coffee knowledge
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work independently
• Reliable and responsive to scheduling requests
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
• Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and short-notice shifts
• Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
• Detail-oriented with ability to maintain quality standards consistently

Schedule

• On-call basis - called in as needed
• Day, morning, and evening shifts
• Monday to Sunday availability preferred
• Short-notice availability appreciated
• Shifts typically range from 2-8 hours
