On Call Fitter General Summary/Responsibilities: The On Call Fitter is responsible for providing patient care off the shelf and pre-fabricated orthoses/braces as allowed per licensure after-hours, including weekends and holidays. He/she must evaluate patient’s need, perform the fitting, making minor modifications as needed, and adjust to ensure proper fit. He/she must maintain good documentation of services provided and may be asked to participate in provider training. The On Call Fitter works every other week. Qualifications Education Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree Additional requirements:  Area of study or major: Athletic Training or Physical Therapy or Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure/Certification/Registration  CPR Required  Athletic Trainer  Physical Therapist  Registered Nurse Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience Knowledge/Skills  Demonstrated ability to effectively fit and deliver non-custom orthotic devices such as; cervical orthoses not require more than minor modification; pressure gradient hose; trusses; non-complex prefabricated spinal orthoses (except those used to treat unstable spinal conditions), and prefabricated orthoses of upper and lower extremities (excluding those used in treatment of bone fractures)  Thorough understanding of medical terminology  Effective communication skills for accurate, concise and organized oral and written presentation and reports to patient and staff  Ability to instruct clinical and non-clinical personnel and customers on objectives of patient care services  Excellent customer service skills required.  Ability to evaluate information and make independent judgments  Experience with computer informational systems  Must have good organizational skills and work well with others  Knowledge of bracing/orthotics  Effective time management/organizational skills

Responsibilities

The On Call Fitter provides after-hours patient care by fitting and delivering pre-fabricated orthoses and braces, making minor modifications as necessary to ensure a proper fit. This role also requires maintaining good documentation of services provided and potentially participating in provider training.
