About the Role Geeks OnSite is hiring experienced Field IT Technicians to support residential and business customers with onsite technical services. Work typically includes computer troubleshooting, networking support, printer and POS setup, and other hands-on IT installations. Some assignments may involve structured cabling, low-voltage installations, and network-connected devices, depending on technician experience. This role offers full flexibility. You control your availability, and we dispatch jobs that match your proximity and capabilities. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS systems Diagnose and resolve WiFi, router, and wired network issues Install and configure printers, scanners, and peripherals Replace or upgrade hardware components Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools Run, terminate, and test Cat5e / Cat6 cabling Install and support POS systems and network-connected devices Perform basic low-voltage installations following site requirements Mount and configure TVs or displays when applicable Document completed work and communicate clearly with customers 2+ years of experience in IT support, field service, or low-voltage installations Strong understanding of networking concepts (routers, switches, cabling) Hands-on experience with Ethernet cabling, terminations, and cable testing Familiarity with PoE-powered devices and network-connected equipment preferred Ability to read basic installation layouts or follow site instructions Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Own required tools, including: Laptop Drill and hand tools Ethernet crimper and tester RJ45 connectors and basic cabling tools Compensation IT, networking, and POS work: $35 per hour (on-site time) TV mounting or specialty installs: flat-rate jobs starting at $100, depending on scope Flexible scheduling – accept only jobs that fit your availability National brand recognition with consistent job opportunities Dispatch and technical support available remotely ✅ What to Expect After You Apply 📞 Intro Call – A recruiter will contact you for a quick chat 📝 Onboarding – Complete paperwork and tax forms electronically 🔍 Background Check – Mandatory before activation 📅 Set Your Availability – You enter your availability in our tech portal 📲 Start Receiving Jobs – You’ll be dispatched jobs based on proximity & skills Join Our Technician Network If you're a reliable, tech-savvy field technician with hands-on printer experience and a flexible schedule, we’d love to hear from you.
