Description
This Opportunity WSP is seeking an On-Call Senior Facility Assessor with 9+ years of experience and a detailed knowledge of facility systems and components, at least five years of facility assessment or property condition assessment experience, and a specialty in one of the following core disciplines: structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing/fire protection, or interior and exterior construction and finishes to conduct Facility Condition Assessment projects throughout the United States. Perform assessments of client facilities using professional expertise and judgment to determine physical condition, remaining service life, and compliance with specifications and building codes. Ability to understand and implement project work plans, quality management plans, and lead others to execute based on a client’s requirements. Use tablet-based computer system to identify and document building systems and components and provide justification for determination of the physical condition. Assess multiple buildings within large complexes on a daily basis identifying major components and sub-components, as well as supporting systems, while operating in a physically demanding environment. Experience assessing government buildings/portfolios is a plus. Ability to lead both large and small teams and report team status daily. Has the skills to teach a methodology and mentor other team members to achieve success. Who You Are Good mathematical aptitude Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines. Good technical writing skills Proficient computer skills, comfortable with technology and hardware, specifically Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint). Ability to travel 75% or more and work flexible hours. Must work well with team members and interact with clients in a positive manner. Must present a clean and professional work appearance, following established dress codes. Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, and perform moderate physical activity such as walking and standing, in a physically challenging environment, both indoors and outdoors. Be able to pass a pre-employment screening including but not limited to: criminal background checks, previous employment verification, education verification, drug screening, and motor vehicle records. Required Qualifications HS diploma or relevant; BS Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering or a Two-year technical college or trade school certification in one of the building trades with relevant experience preferred. 9+ years of experience conducting facility condition assessments. Experience using mobile computer system devices for field data collection. Knowledge of facility condition assessment software applications like BUILDER SMS. Valid driver's license. Valid passport or ability to obtain a valid passport. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineers (PE or EIT) or Architects (RA) preferred but not required. Prior military service in civil engineering, construction, or facilities management (AFCEC, DPW, IMCOM, Seabee, PRIME BEEF, RED HORSE, USACE). #LI-AW1
