Description

We are seeking a skilled On-Road Journeyman Diesel Mechanic to join an established team in Calgary, Alberta. This role is perfect for a certified technician with a strong background in diesel mechanics. Techs with certifications such as a Red Seal or Alberta Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Truck and Transport Mechanic are highly encouraged to apply Ontario 310T holders are also welcome to apply. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform comprehensive vehicle repairs, including adjustments and tests on various systems like steering, electrical, cooling, braking, and more.
  • Conduct test drives to verify the resolution of repair issues.
  • Ensure all major repairs receive appropriate inspections and approvals before vehicles are released from the maintenance facility.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area in compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Identify and report any additional maintenance or repairs discovered during assigned tasks.
  • Record time spent, parts used, and details of repairs and maintenance conducted on the appropriate forms.
  • Communicate with the Lead Technician about any unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and potential vehicle abuse.
  • Handle road calls and on-the-road repairs as needed.

    Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance, including repair and engine rebuilds on diesel trucks or buses, in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must possess a Red Seal or Alberta Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Truck and Transport Mechanic certification.
  • Ontario 310T will be recognized as equivalent.
  • Must be able to operate a service vehicle with a valid license for mobile repair duties.
  • Proficiency in computerized diagnostics and general shop computer usage.
  • Experience with purchasing and budget management in a fleet maintenance context.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Good organizational skills are advantageous.

    HJ1 Compensation:

  • $44 to $45/hr based on experience.
