Job Description Summary The On Wing Support SMS Engineer will be responsible for key functional, business, and company objectives and report to the onsite Safety Manager. In this role, the SMS Engineer will solve complex issues affecting the business, executing the long-term business plan, and lead the Safety Management System in the organization. The SMS Engineer will work with the larger OWS team (including Global Quality), as well as a cross-functional team from other organizations within the GE Aerospace network. Job Description Essential responsibilities: Leading the ICAO Safety Management System activities and driving the Safety culture at the shop and field. Create a culture where Quality and Safety is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. Develop and conduct SMS training for all staff. Serve as the secondary interface with regulatory agencies. Ensure that all Regulatory SMS and Company requirements are met. All Regulatory, Customer and Supplier audit requirements are satisfied. Perform internal audits locally and at remote locations as required. Develop and conduct Root Cause Analysis and pFMEA when required. Own the proactive Quality and SMS framework for the site. Lead RCCA Execution for the shop and facilitating best practice sharing with other shops with the OWS network and wider GE Aerospace Quality Organization. Maintain the site SMS mechanism include lead the SAG & SRB, facilitate the risk assessment and MOC process. Encourage open report safety culture, assign and follow up the SMS concern report. Qualifications / Requirements: CAAC TA license, with English level 4 qualified. Be proficient in Safety Management System and Human Factor knowledge. Training certificate for Safety Management System (Include HF) from a Part 147 organisation or equivalent. Strong working knowledge of ICAO Annex 19 requirements. Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Part 145 QA/SMS Department. Experience working with aviation regulatory agencies. Knowledge of CCAR 145, EASA Part 145, FAR 145 and related procedures. Qualified Auditor with Auditing Experience. Desired Characteristics: Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
