About the role Reporting to the Crew Development Manager, the Onboard Services Crew/Deckhand (OBSD) role combines exceptional customer service with hands-on support for vessel operations, including tasks such as working with secondary lines, gangways, and assisting with passenger loading. There is roughly a 70% (OBS) and 30% (Deckhand) split, hence this role will also see you showcase your hospitality skills behind our onboard café and provide a very high standard of customer service to both tourists and our regular commuters, whilst also participating in marine drills and learning invaluable skills which can only take your career further on board. Fullers360 are committed to growth and development, our in-house training programme encompasses all levels of marine qualifications along with skills and courses that are targeted at providing a high level of competency across our crews. You'll be tasked with: Delivering exceptional customer service in our onboard café Preparing the vessel for passengers—cleaning, restocking, and assisting with boarding Providing accurate service info and promoting our offerings Assisting with marine operations including mooring lines and gangways Participating in marine safety drills and maintaining high safety standard Hours of work: Rotating roster (no set pattern) including public holidays and weekends No set pattern, usually 5 days on and 2 days off 120 hours over a 3-week period, average of 40 hours per week Shifts fall between the hours of 4.30am - 2am (morning, afternoon and night shifts) Morning shifts start between 4.30am - 8.30am and afternoon shifts finish between 10pm - 2am What We’re Looking For: At least 6 months of experience on a vessel with marine deck work experience A passion for great customer service Reliability, punctuality, and a polished, professional appearance Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team A full driver’s license and reliable transport (some shifts fall outside public transport hours) About our benefits and perks: $29.13 per hour Free ferry travel for you and your family (terms apply) 50% off café items on and off duty, and free hot drinks while working Subsidised CBD parking, discounted gym memberships (Auckland Council) Discounts at Southern Cross, SpecSavers and MoleMap Free annual flu vaccinations and EAP support *We are only considering candidates who are eligible to work in New Zealand without the need for visa sponsorship and are over age of 18 to be considered for this role.
