In line with the Government’s Shared Services Strategy, UKSBS is currently engaged as the future service provider within the Matrix Neo? Programme. The Programme’s aim is to deliver a modern, cost-effective and scalable shared business services to nine Departments (the Policy Cluster) in a flexible way that can meet changing Government requirements, and drive innovation to optimise efficiencies and enhance user experience. The Programme will also implement a new modern SaaS ERP platform, from which UKSBS can deliver these services, driving harmonisation and significant business change across the Departments. This is a large, complex multi-year Programme.
The Partnerships & Change (P&C) directorate leads the organisation’s strategic relationships with our clients, onboarding and offboarding, the development of future services, as well as providing enterprise architecture and business analysis capability.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Onboarding Analyst to be part of a team of subject matter experts and to increase our capacity and skills diversity. As an Onboarding Analyst, you must understand business and information needs, analysis and design processes, and align technology and data solutions with organisational goals. You will also have sound knowledge of the data engineering lifecycle who can act as a subject matter expert for Power BI and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) activities. Your expertise will be key to successful programme and project delivery and help drive growth across the business.

Duties will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Engage with stakeholders and end-users to gather, define, and document requirements and benefits for new projects and programmes of work
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data engineering solutions meet business needs
  • Communicate information effectively to drive decisions and actions whilst acting as a conduit between Clients, End users, Operational teams, and Technical areas
  • Use various techniques to elicit and engineer requirements for technical and process development and enhancements
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, data models, and architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and troubleshooting
  • Conduct feasibility studies, perform critical analysis of options from business, technical, and commercial perspectives, gap analysis, business process mapping, and provide subject matter expertise to the business
  • Design, develop, and document data strategies
  • Implement data transformations, data cleansing, and data enrichment processes to ensure data quality and consistency
  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load)
  • Define data security measures, access controls, and encryption to protect sensitive data in compliance with industry standards and regulations

To be considered for the role you will possess:

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and the ability to communicate effectively
  • The ability to understand a wider organisational landscape and combine analytical skills with strong communication and people skills
  • Strong track record of experience in a Business Analyst position working on projects with a strong focus on Technical and Business Change development
  • Experience of conducting in-depth analysis of services and processes, and working with teams to identify and implement opportunities to optimise them
  • Proven experience in a data engineering environment with a focus on Azure Data Services, Power BI and ETL
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
  • Familiarity with data modelling, data governance, and data security principles
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements as well as logical solution designs
  • Able to create and maintain fluent and accurate documentation to be interpreted easily by relevant audiences
  • Any formal qualifications eg Business Analysis qualification(s) or membership to relevant professional bodies, Agile
  • Delivery or practitioner qualifications, preferably in the SAFe Product Owner/Manager space would be highly advantageous

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

To be considered, you will need to successfully obtain BPSS before commencing the role, obtaining clearance usually takes 5-10 working days.
