MOAB REGIONAL HOSPITAL POSITION TITLE: Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP): Outpatient Nursing Services Department STATUS: Full-time, employed SUPERVISOR: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) COMPENSATION: $75 - $95/ hour START DATE: Summer 2026 WORK WEEK: 40 hours per week; No scheduled call Oncology: * Infusions: chemotherapy; blood; specialty therapeutics * Specialty Injections/Infusions * Clinic Visits (On-site and Tele-) * Other oncology-related interventions POSITION SUMMARY: The Oncology Nurse Practitioner plays a vital role in transforming cancer care for patients living in rural southeastern Utah. This is not a traditional oncology role built around volume and brief encounters — it is an opportunity to build deep relationships, guide patients through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, and help shape an innovative model for rural cancer care delivery. Working collaboratively with primary care providers, regional oncologists, infusion services, and local care teams, the Oncology Nurse Practitioner serves as a trusted clinical partner for patients across the continuum of care — from the uncertainty of a new diagnosis, through active treatment, survivorship, recurrence, and long-term follow-up. Patients may first meet the Oncology NP while awaiting specialty oncology appointments, where the NP helps coordinate diagnostics, education, symptom support, referrals, and the next steps in care. From there, the NP remains an ongoing clinical presence and advocate, helping patients navigate treatment plans locally while serving as an important set of eyes and ears between oncology visits. This role blends clinical care, survivorship management, patient navigation, care coordination, and program development in a highly collaborative environment. The Oncology NP will help patients access chemotherapy, laboratory, imaging, rehabilitation, behavioral health, and supportive care services close to home whenever possible, while building strong, trusted relationships with regional oncology specialists and cancer centers. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develop a comprehensive treatment plan and manage antineoplastic drugs, biologics, hormone therapy, immune modulators and/or related agents, with patient’s oncologist and other team members (internal and external); * Daily communication, review, and planning with MRH’s USP 797- and 800-compliant Pharmacy Team; * Consult with MRH Emergency Department physicians, as well as the patient’s oncology team on antineoplastic-related emergencies; * Assume all aspects of an Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner-licensed clinician (in Utah) and patient navigator that contributes to excellent patient care, as delivered by the oncologist and all members of the oncology team (internal and external); * Understanding of oncology standards, clinical trial information, regulatory requirements, to include Utah State Nurse Practice Act – Nurse Practitioners; * Maintain accurate and timely documentation; * Monthly review of clinical practice decisions, to include ANM (antineoplastic management) decisions, with collaborating/supervising physician; * Participate in policy development; * Networking and regional travel related to collaboration with oncologists; * Participate in on-site and off-site education, to include didactic and clinical rotations; * Ensure on-going, regular education for self and team in this rapidly changing healthcare specialty; * Participate in Quality Assurance activities, to include OPPE, Incident Reporting, Quality Dashboard, * Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction surveys, etc. * Participate in program awareness and marketing activities, in our community and beyond; QUALIFICATIONS: * Unencumbered license: Nurse Practitioner (“A.P.R.N. Controlled Substance”) in Utah * 1-3 years in inpatient or outpatient oncology setting as an A.P.R.N.; * Successful approval of Credentialing and Privileging Requirements at Moab Regional Hospital before engaging in NP-level patient care; * Successful completion of insurance empaneling process, in order to bill for services when appropriate; * Competency in chemotherapy and biotherapy management * AOCNP (Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner within 12 months of hire (financial assistance available) * BLS/ACLS PREFERRED: * AOCNP (Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner) upon hire * >3 years in an inpatient or outpatient oncology setting as an APRN * Previous experience with Meditech (EMR) Why Should You Join the Team at Moab Regional Hospital?
