Description

CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Baccalaureate Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) Certificate required (recent within the last twelve months)
  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate required (training delivered by Health Centre upon hire)
  • Current Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Certificate an asset
  • Recent clinical experience (within last 2 years) in the field of Addictions and Mental Health
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in applying recovery informed approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, CMT informed therapy, Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed techniques
  • Knowledge of Patient and Family Partnered Care practices

  • Demonstrate strong intervention skills to engage clients living with mental health and physical health conditions across the adult life span required
  • Demonstrates skills to assist individuals to successfully attain valued roles, independent living goals and social inclusion
  • Demonstrated ability to provide culturally safe care

  • Excellent attendance and work record required
  • Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
