We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated One-on-One Male Support Worker to join our team at Listowel. This individual will provide personalized care and support to residents with various physical, emotional, and mental health needs. The ideal candidate will possess a Gentle peruasive approach certificate(GPA certificate ) and have experience working in a healthcare or residential care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Personalized Care: Provide one-on-one support for assigned residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Medical Assistance: Under supervision, assist with basic medical tasks such as medication reminders
Monitoring and Reporting: Track and document residents’ progress, behaviors, and health updates accurately in and communicate any concerns to senior staff.
Emotional Support: Offer companionship and social interaction to residents, promoting their mental and emotional well-being.
Safety and Comfort: Ensure the resident’s environment is safe and comfortable,
Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and company policies to maintain high-quality care.
Qualifications:
Certification: GPA
Experience: Previous experience in a care facility, nursing home, or healthcare setting preferred.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with residents.
Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
Basic knowledge of healthcare practices and understanding of medical terminology.
Ability to follow care plans and work independently.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Background Check: recent vulnerability sector check, recent 2 step tb test results, all vaccination details, flu shot details
Preferred Qualifications:
First Aid and CPR certification. GPA certificate
Experience in elderly or dementia care.
Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities or mental health issues.
Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 4 months
Pay: $17.20 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
